Electrical & power

Electrical contracting packages for power distribution, lighting, cabling and controls, with defined supply boundaries and inspection records.

Illustrative electrical distribution installation
SCOPE OF WORK / PROJECT SPECIFIC

Power. Distribution. Control.

The final scope depends on site assessment, agreed responsibilities and applicable approvals.

Power infrastructure

  • Incoming supply and utility interfaces
  • Transformer and substation installation interfaces
  • LV distribution boards, MDBs and sub-distribution
  • Standby generators, automatic transfer and UPS interfaces
  • Switchgear, breakers and protective devices
  • Load schedules, single-line coordination and circuit identification

Cabling & containment

  • Power and control cable pulling and termination
  • Cable trays, ladders, trunking and conduits
  • Busbar and feeder routing interfaces
  • Earthing, bonding and lightning protection provisions
  • Identification, segregation and route protection

Lighting & final circuits

  • Interior, façade, landscape and external lighting
  • Emergency lighting and illuminated exit signs
  • Socket outlets, isolators and local power points
  • Lighting control, dimming and occupancy interfaces
  • Sub-metering, energy-monitoring and EV-charging provisions
  • Equipment power connections and final terminations

ELV, controls & industrial electrical

  • Structured cabling, data outlets and racks
  • CCTV, access control and intercom infrastructure
  • Fire-alarm cabling and system interfaces
  • Motor control centres, VFD feeders and machine connections
  • BMS field wiring and control-panel interfaces

Verification & energisation

  • Insulation resistance, continuity and polarity tests
  • Earth-resistance and bonding verification
  • Functional checks of protection and controls
  • Panel labelling, circuit schedules and test records
  • Controlled energisation and electrical closeout

Practical deliverables.

  • Coordinated routes, equipment interfaces and circuit identification
  • Inspection and test records for the agreed installation scope
  • Updated drawings, panel schedules and equipment information

Before defining the scope

01What information helps define an electrical package?

Share the building use, available drawings, equipment list, existing supply information and proposed changes. State whether the site remains occupied and which interruptions require approval. Capacity and protection requirements must be assessed by the responsible qualified team.

02How can electrical quotations be compared on the same basis?

Use the same drawing revisions, quantities and equipment schedule for every proposal. Ask each bidder to identify material supply, installation, containment, connections, testing and reinstatement separately. Record exclusions, provisional quantities and responsibility for utility or building-management interfaces before comparing totals.

03What should an electrical handover identify?

Agree a record set tied to the installed systems: drawing revisions, panel and circuit identification, equipment information, inspection results and unresolved items. Name the party responsible for reviewing the results and authorising the next stage. The required tests and acceptance criteria are determined for the actual installation by the responsible qualified team.
