Before defining the scope

01Why coordinate building services before closing ceilings?

Ceiling space must accommodate equipment, service routes and future maintenance access. Resolving these interfaces and inspecting concealed work before closure helps avoid opening completed finishes again.

02What affects the price of a fit-out or refurbishment?

Area is only one input. Existing condition, approved material selections, removal and disposal, service alterations, access hours and the required completion records also affect the package. Compare quotations using the same room or finish schedule, quantities and inclusions. A measured scope and agreed samples give a clearer basis than an undefined rate per square metre.

03What should a fit-out completion inspection cover?

Review the finished areas against agreed drawings, samples and the scope, then record each outstanding item with its location and acceptance responsibility. Include access panels, service interfaces and the information needed to operate or maintain affected systems. Agree how corrections are recorded and rechecked before the package is closed.
